Mateusz Żaba

Attorney at Law (reg. number: KT 4545), Doctor of Law, academic lecturer, Assistant Professor, and Member of the Research Team of Economic and Commercial Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration at University of Silesia in Katowice. He specialises in company law, private economic law, commercial law, cooperative law, and bankruptcy and restructuring law. He has authored several dozen national and international scientific publications in his field, and given specialist legal opinions at the appointment of an expert. A graduate from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia, he defended with honours his doctoral dissertation entitled Legal consequences of cross-border mergers and acquisitions of commercial companies (comparative legal studies of Polish, Czech and Slovak legislation). Scholarship holder of the National Scholarship Program of the Slovak Republic and scholarship holder under the bilateral agreement between the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports and the Polish Ministry of Higher Education. He speaks English (fluent), Slovak (fluent) and Ukrainian (fluent). In addition, he can speak Serbian as well as Croatian to an advanced level, and can communicate in Russian and Czech. Passionate about Slavic languages, he is also a former lacrosse and volleyball player.
